How it works

Six steps, start to finish.

Nothing happens to a card until you've seen the quote and signed off on it.

  1. Ask for a quote

Send photos and a list of what you'd like done. You'll get back a written quote with the service, price per card, estimated turnaround, and total.

  2. Approve and sign

Read the service agreement and sign it online. That signature confirms the scope and pricing you agreed to.

  3. Pay and hand off

Payment is due in full at or before hand-off. We message to set a meetup spot and time that works for both of us.

  4. Condition photos

Every card in your batch is photographed and documented before any work starts. You get that record — it's the baseline everything is measured against.

  5. The work

If I find something unexpected that changes the scope, I stop and message you first. Nothing extra gets done without your go-ahead.

  6. Pick up

When your batch is ready I'll reach out to arrange the hand-off. Cards come back in fresh sleeves and toploaders, with the after photos.

Recent work

Before and after, every time.

Same card, same lighting, same angle. Nothing staged.

New shop — this gallery fills in as batches come back. Want to see work in progress first? Email me or DM me and I'll send what I have.

The story

I kept buying cards that were 90% of the way to great.

A scuff on the border. A little surface haze on a holo. Nothing you could do much about, and nothing worth sending anywhere — so it just sat in the binder, a little worse than it should have been.

Just Mint started as me working on my own collection: figuring out what actually helps card stock, what makes it worse, and where the line is. Enough people asked me to look at theirs that it turned into a business.

I work in person, one batch at a time, here in the Twin Cities. I photograph everything before I touch it, I tell you when a card isn't worth the risk, and I'd rather turn work down than hand back something worse than I got it.

FAQ

The things worth asking first.

If your question isn't here, email or DM me and I'll answer it straight.

Will this get my card a better grade?

I don't promise grades, and you should be skeptical of anyone who does. Grading companies set their own standards, apply them by hand, and change them over time. None of that is in my control.

What I can control is the card's condition when it leaves me, and I document that with before and after photos of every card. What a grader does with it after that is between you and them.

Is cleaning the same thing as altering a card?

They're different things, but the line matters and it's worth being clear about.

If you plan to submit a card for grading, tell me before I start. Grading companies each define alteration their own way and those definitions shift. I'll tell you exactly what was done to each card so you can make your own call — and disclose it to a buyer or a grader if you choose to.

If there's a service I think puts a submission at risk, I'll say so and let you decide rather than quietly doing it.

What happens if a card turns out to be counterfeit?

I don't work on counterfeit or already-altered cards. If I find one in your batch, I stop on that card and contact you.

If it's a surprise to both of us — you bought it in good faith and didn't know — I refund that card's service fee in full. Knowingly submitting a counterfeit or altered card is a different situation, and the signed agreement covers it.

Part of what you're paying for is a second set of eyes. I'd rather flag it than hand it back looking better.

Can a badly damaged card be made to look new?

No. Correction work improves a card; it doesn't reset it. A deep crease will look better and it will still be a creased card.

Card stock is layered paper. There's always some chance a card gets worse rather than better, and on a rough card that chance is real. If I think a card isn't worth the risk, I'll tell you before I touch it and you decide. Cancel it and that fee comes back in full.

Can I mail my cards in?

Not right now — everything is in person. We message, pick a spot in the Twin Cities metro that works for both of us, and hand off there. Same for pick-up.

What if I'm not happy with the result?

Email me within 5 days of pick-up with photos of the card in question. I'll respond within 3 business days.

Every card has a before and after record, so there's something real to compare against instead of two people remembering it differently. I'd rather sort it out directly than have either of us go anywhere else with it.
